Emma Wood

Emma is an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP), which pays for her hobby, riding Gold Wings! She has owned 12 Hondas including a CB 900, 1998 Magna 750, 2001 VFR 800 Interceptor, and nine Gold Wings; 1981, 82, 83, 84, 89, 97, 98, 01, and her current yellow 2003!

In her many years of riding experience her best trip was to the 1999 to Americade, Canada and Wing Ding in Springfield. It was best because it was the first year her son, George Jr., rode his own bike. Her second longest trip was in 2000 to southern CA via Denver, on the Canadian Rockies, to Wing Ding in Billings, across Canada to Montreal, south through the Adirondacks, and back home after visiting family in PA: 11,353 miles!

Her longest trip was to Alaska 2002, 18,383 miles! The short version of the trip story goes like this; she left Florida and rode to Lake George, NY for a week at Americade 2002 as a mini-tour guide, then rode across Canada to Alaska. After touring Alaska, from Chicken to Tok, to Fairbanks, to the Artic Circle, back to Fairbanks, to Denali, to Anchorage, Homer, Seward, back to Anchorage, then GlenAllen, Tok, and the AlCan Highway east to Haines Junction, YT, then south to Haines, AK for a ride down the Inside Passage in the Alaska Marine Highway to Prince Rupert, then east to Jasper and south in the Icefields Parkway through the Canadian Rockies, south across the border to the US Rockies, visiting all the National Parks along the way, all the way to the Grand Canyon, before heading east and north to Ft Wayne, IN for Wing Ding 2002 where she spent another week teaching ERC and playing vendor helper before returning home to Florida.

Favorite motorcycle road: hhhmmm... there are too many... Deal's Gap, Cabot Trail, Pacific Coast Highway, Blue Ridge Parkway, Skyline Drive, or I-70 across the Rockies. Her favorite and most challenging road is the Alaskan-Canadian Highway, better known as the AlCan.

Emma rides because she enjoys it! What she likes best about Chapter FL1-A2 is the people and rides.
